Generality
The #beethechange2023 Awards aim at recognizing and making young students known for having particularly distinguished themselves for their school/university career, but, above all, for being able to witness how their ethical commitment has had or can reasonably have a positive effect on society, determining a positive and enduring change.
The commitment can be represented by a documentable individual or collective initiative for change and/or emancipation from pre-existing social, economic and ethical conditions; for the sole purpose of providing examples of the nature of the initiative, it could consist, for example, of:
a. carrying out or having carried out a service activity in a family, community, citizen, school, association environment, especially where it is (or has been) aimed at resolving or, at least, alleviating difficult situations;
b. planning or actual implementation of a service activity, especially where the outcome, achieved or reasonably foreseeable, is a positive and lasting change in the general conditions of the recipients;
c. planning or actual implementation of an awareness-raising activity on ethics and sustainability issues, especially where the outcome, achieved or reasonably foreseeable, is a significant increase in the awareness and commitment of the recipients;
d. design or actual creation of a product or service that is based on sustainability criteria that are not necessarily economic, but possibly environmental, social, cultural or technological;
e. work (written text, photo album, video clip or short film, musical composition, theatrical work, any other type of artistic representation, etc.) that represents the themes covered by this competition.
The Awards also aim at enhancing the personality of young people, especially in terms of their ability to deal with cultures, languages and social and professional environments different from the usual ones.
No constraints or limits on participation and no title of preference in the evaluation are allowed in relation to gender, nationality, race, language, religion, political opinions, personal and social conditions of the individual participants.
The Awards are organized by the Carosella family and by the Carosella Group and has received the patronage of District 2101 Rotary International and District 2101 Rotaract.
The Awards, in their name, recall Bee, the most important technological brand of the Carosella Group.
The closing ceremony will take place on Saturday 21 October 2023 (venue and time will be communicated as soon as possible); it foresees two moments converging towards the same single objective:
1. the acknowledgement: making known and rewarding the ethical commitment of the young winners;
2. the example: by publicly acknowledging personalities who, in their field of activity, have given and continue to give witness and example of ethical commitment to the younger generations.
Recipients
The Award is intended for students of High Schools (last three years), university students and recent graduates.
Therefore, it is divided into two homogeneous categories of competitors: I.I.S. and I.T.S.; University.
For each Competition Call, young individuals will compete (also at the request of the young person) from an Institute or University of the Campania Region based on what is pertinent to the previous paragraph "Generalities".
The geographical limit of the Campania Region is not mandatory; therefore, to encourage the largest participation, the Call may be sent to other Institutes or Universities that declare their interest in joining the initiative.
Objective
Recognise, enhance and support the sensitivity of young people with respect to the issues of ethics, sustainability, multiculturalism, active citizenship and accountability by encouraging and rewarding their commitment to assume a leading role in a virtuous change in society.
Nature of the award
To enhance and support human qualities and commitment, the Award, thanks to the prestigious partnership with District 2101 of Rotary International and District 2101 of Rotaract, provides that the winners are offered:
. for I.I.S. students, summer stay (in the summer of 2024) for study-holiday abroad;
. for university students, training internships in Italy or abroad at Italian or international companies or organisations. The added value of the offer is the opportunity of experiencing different cultures, languages and lifestyles.
Mode
Call for applications for qualifications and exams; specific for each group of recipients (High Schools; University).
Object of the competition: see the paragraph "General".
Evaluation of the applications: for each group of recipients, based on the presentation of the Institute of origin and of the work presented in the competition.
Further details available in the Announcement.
The role of High Schools and Universities
From Schools, ITS and Universities, the maximum involvement of Teachers and, above all, of Students is appreciated. In their interest, the largest participation in the competition is encouraged, and therefore the initiative will be given maximum prominence in the community.
The role of companies and public institutions
The role of companies and public institutions consists, as for the Award itself, in the willingness to offer short-term training internships to the awarded young people; as for the example as an engine of ethical commitment, personalities to be rewarded will be identified in the world of companies and institutions, as well as the professions.
Companies, organizations and professionals will thus demonstrate their commitment to the themes of ethics, sustainability, and responsibility and will be able to help stimulate interest in them among young people.
The role of Carosella Group
Organizer of the initiative and supporter of the strategic value of new professionals, capable of uniting around a multidisciplinary vision that integrates ethics, technology, sustainability, legal, economic and social skills.
